Designing the Mux 25 million minutes award

I worked again with the very nice people from Mux, this time on a really fun award design / desktop toy. Mux is solving the hardest problems in video streaming and wrapping it all up in thoughtfully designed developer tools and dashboards.

Users of their products will receive the award as recognition for streaming over 25 million minutes. We came up with many different ideas first as sketches, then vector and finally in 3d to explore the ideas. In the end we liked the idea of the number of interlocking parts that come together to make up the number 25. But as you'll see below, we tried out many different routes. :)

Initially we worked with the idea of 10 million minutes or even something not related to the number 10 or 25, maybe something from the Mux brand or another fun item.

Below are many of the various ideas I tried out, starting as flat shapes in Illustrator before moving into 3d in Blender.
